Steve Matty has a motto of doing things right the first time and at a reasonable cost. In 1989, he put that philosophy into practice and started installing floors. Since then he has installed several thousand floors for both commercial and residential sites. Steve and his wife also raised a family and their son Daryl learned the trade at an early age when most of his friends were busy watching TV or partying. Daryl has benefited from his Dad’s vast experience and they both adhere to the same high quality standards and work on each floor like it was for their own home or business.

For the do it your self home owner wishing to tackle the project themselves we can also provide you with the flooring and accessories to complete the job yourself as well as give you some tips and tricks if needed.

THE NAIL DOWN METHOD

The nail down method is most commonly used for solid pre-finished or site finished flooring. The material is milled with a tongue and groove on either side of the length of the board as well as the ends of the board.

THE FLOATING SYSTEM

A floating system is where the individual sections of flooring are attached to each other either with glue or a "click lock" system. These boards are installed over a thin layer of foam padding that not only dampen the sound of footsteps, but also provides for a comfortable feel.

INSTALLATION USING GLUE

When installing over a concrete floor, the glue method or floating method may be used. When gluing a floor down, a thin layer of adhesive is spread over the floor in workable sections. The boards are then set in the glue and use the same tongue and groove to hold them together.
